Chong Yuet Ming, Li Ka Shing’s late wife and former student at HKU, was disabled and was always sitting in a wheelchair. One night, her body was found in her apartment. Cause of death is unknown till this day.

After her death, Li Ka Shing built the Chong Yuet Ming Amenities Centre to fulfill her wish of giving back to her alma mater. However, rumours around the school go that the design of the building was a way to trap her dead soul. Overlooking the building, the arched roof and rectangular shape, people couldn’t help but notice how much it reminded them of a coffin.

One strange thing you’ll notice when you go into the building is that, the escalator only goes up, but not down. This seems to be extremely tortuous and painful for the disabled— so when Chong Yuet Ming’s soul came in, she could never leave. On another note, the stairs’ handrails are made up of willow trees, a top-class coffin wood that is extraordinarily thick and difficult to hold. An accidental fall off the stairs will cause miserable bloodshed.

There have been several reports of staff members seeing the silhouette of Chong. On one occasion, deep into the night an employee saw a lady in white looking for groceries at Park n Shop store on the first floor, sitting in a wheelchair … Moreover, full-length mirrors can be found in all women’s washrooms. If you see a disabled woman in the mirror at night, NEVER STARE AT HER. Leave the washroom immediately, because she may be lurking...
