FUN HKU TINGS

It’s the time of the year. Just when we want to recover from all the grueling midterms, we realize the final season is creeping up on us. The concept of fun just seems so remote and even invisible. Don’t worry, we’re here to help. Here are some fun things that you can do during your study sessions to make the concept of fun reappear in your life.

The end of the winter holidays has arrived, ringing in both the Lunar New Year, Semester 1 grading, and last but not least, the second-half of more mixed-mode learning. With students and staff (hopefully) adjusting to mixed mode and university life amidst a global pandemic, some things have remained unchanged, while others have not.

PSEUDO DIVERSITY

When you first think about applying to a higher educational institution outside of your home country, the few things that make you feel anxious and excited are the diversity, cultural inclusivity. This prospect acts as a huge catalyst in helping you make the decision(s) while choosing said higher educational institution.

But the reality may not be the same when it comes to actually experiencing the over-glorified idea of diversity.

We will be recommending cafes of different vibes for the upcoming weeks, so by the time we go back to campus, you will have ready a list of places to go in-between lessons.

Cafes with a chill vibe but still suitable for doing work or studying is essential, especially when we are slowly transitioning back to the ‘normal’.

If you’re a social sciences student, these are 12 credits you have to obtain in order to graduate.

​

Typically, people fulfilled these credits by undertaking 12 credits of approved courses during their exchange, or by doing a non-local internship – but clearly that’s going to be impossible for the time being.
